I (Jenna) went to college with Megan in NYC and found out we were both from Delaware! It’s a small state, so that doesn’t happen very often. We’ve kept in touch over the years and when Megan and Daniel were planning their wedding, we were so excited to hear from them about capturing their intimate Washington DC wedding/elopement. They met in DC years ago, and have moved several times before settling in Florida and having their daughter.
Daniel says it best, “We met in DC, fell in love across the width and breadth of the Midwest, and got married in DC, where it all began.”
We love small weddings. This one was on the charming sidewalk patio of a bustling coffee shop and restaurant. Ivy covered the walls and the tree branches climbed over the trellis. The weather was absolutely gorgeous – a cool breeze with the sun shining. They only had about 20 guests and shared a family-style meal with them. Everyone was passing platters of delicious comfort food around the table, the macaroni and cheese was particularly fantastic! Daniel’s grandparents and aunt flew in from Puerto Rico, which was so incredibly special for them. They had so many little personal touches like custom artwork around the tables. It felt very intimate and special. We hope these images do it justice.
