Inn At Canal Square Lewes Wedding

Sara and Karl live in Texas, so we didn’t get to meet them until a few weeks before the wedding. We sat down with Sara and her mom over coffee in the quaint coastal town of Lewes, Delaware. The way she described Karl to us painted the most beautiful picture of their love story. She told us he has a big heart and loves people well. On their first date, he already knew he would marry her. He later told her, “it doesn’t take a whole day to recognize sunshine.” Fast forward a few years later… their whole wedding day was full of love, celebration and sunshine!

These two have spent a lot of time in New Orleans and love everything about it. They feel like it’s a preservation of all that is good in the south. The people of New Orleans celebrate every little thing in life – it’s one big party! Sara and Karl wanted to bring part of that culture to their wedding day by having a Second Line marching band parade from the church to the Inn at Canal Square, where their reception was held. Since Sara lives in Texas, her mother went to all the town council meetings trying to get the parade approved. Sara has a patient at work that told her, “Darling, you just tell them that it will be a dream come true!” And that’s exactly what she did, in the form of a letter her mom read to the council and changed their minds. They approved the first ever wedding Second Line in Lewes!

We spent the entire day with Sara, Karl, their closest friends and family. Everyone was so welcoming and enjoyable to be around. Between the parade, the live band and the drinks flowing – this wedding was SO. MUCH. FUN. We had an absolute blast telling this story.
