Russ is in a band, so these two love music. They go out a lot in Baltimore to get dinner, drinks and listen to live music. We had such a blast walking around Fells Point for their engagement session last year and couldn’t wait for their Vandiver Inn wedding! They wanted it to be two things: easy and fun. The venue was perfect because their close family and friends could actually spend the night at the Inn after the wedding. When the reception was over, everyone (including Michael and I) wandered down the street to a local bar to continue the party. It was such a wonderful day filled with the people, food and drinks they love most.
One of my favorite moments of the day was standing close to Melissa and her dad while the bridesmaids were all walking down the aisle. It seemed like watching them walk into the ceremony finally made her feel like this was all actually happening. I watched the realization set in and the tears start flowing. It was such an incredible moment, and one of the many reasons why I love photographing weddings. It’s not just about the first kiss, first dance, what shoes she’s wearing… it’s about those moments in between everything when you see such strong emotion pass over their faces.
Almost every single photo we picked for this blog post shows how happy this day was for everyone. I feel like Melissa and Russ literally never stopped smiling! It was such a joy!
