It had been raining all week, every night for 7 nights. Their dream of a simple backyard wedding was becoming more and more complicated with all the mud. But nothing could keep away their joy! Melinda and Caleb were amazing. They rallied together, decided to buy a bunch of pine shavings to cover the wet ground and laid down a wood walkway from the road. During the ceremony, the rain was falling softly on the tent. They didn’t have much dancing, just a lovely meal shared with the people they love. It was such a quiet and peaceful evening. I’m sure it wasn’t everything they thought it would be, but it still was everything they dreamed of.
Melinda spent most of the morning attending (or trying to attend to) everyone around her. She even offered to make me a sandwich for lunch on her wedding day! Don’t worry, we wouldn’t let her. She has such a sweet spirit and I can see what Caleb loves about her. They have a wonderful life ahead of them!
As they were driving down the road, long after the wedding was over, the sun pierced through the clouds for the first time all week. A glorious, full rainbow covered the sky. We are still kicking ourselves that the timing wasn’t right for us to photograph them under it, but they got to enjoy it as they drove away. It is such a sweet promise of a beautiful future.
