Jacque and Joe

Claudia by the Wood - Frankford, Delaware Wedding Photographer

Jacque and Joe (and their exes!) are the best example of blending families and co-parenting that we’ve ever seen. Jacque has 2 children and Joe also has 2 children, so together they have become a beautiful family of 6. It’s so incredible to watch the way they love each other’s children as their own. I loved watching Jacque make hot dogs and macaroni and cheese for the kids that afternoon. She was in her sparkly heels serving out the most classic childhood food on paper plates. It just shows her heart – even on her wedding day, she’s still a mother first.

They worked tirelessly for months to create handmade decor for their wedding. Everything was made with beautiful pieces of rustic wood, antlers, greenery and glowing candles. Joe spent many hours at the venue helping them clear out the land, even the morning of the wedding he was doing yard work to make it look perfect! It was so amazing to see it all come together, thanks to their efforts.

Their wedding was in the middle of a forest. There were tall trees, twinkle lights and tons of flowers. It was magical! They were married under a huge, deeply rooted tree surrounded by their friends and family. They read their own vows and talked about how they were each other’s very best friend.

The reception was under the stars. They ate dinner on tables scattered around the lawn and the dance floor was in a cove of trees. My favorite part was watching these two dance! They cleared the whole dance floor multiple times as they twirled and spun around in each other’s arms. Everyone stood around to watch, smiling ear to ear. Their love is infectious and we are so happy for them!

[…] In 2017, I was so blessed to marry my best friend. We worked extremely hard over a year and a half to create the perfect outdoor setting. We had to build a bar and dance floor, clear land, install electricity, and produce all the decor, from heavy 6-foot-long signs to handmade bouquets and boutonnieres. The hard work paid off and the weather cooperated on this absolutely perfect day! (Photo credit to The Beards Photography.) […]
