Net and Michelle met in graduate school and have been together ever since. They have lots of common interests in traveling and food and love to cook together – especially Thai food from Net’s family recipes. When we got together with them over coffee and heard about their wedding plans, we knew we were a perfect fit for each other. They had a really small bridal party and wanted the whole day to be really relaxed and fun. They did a First Look and gave us plenty of time for portraits, so the whole day felt calm and peaceful.
The snow started as soon as we began shooting hair and makeup. It fell softly at first then faster and faster in just a few hours. The snow was falling heavily by the time we drove to the Carriage House at Rockwood Park for the ceremony! It was MAGIC. It seriously looked like Narnia with the stone buildings and countless trees at the Carriage House. Michelle and Net were such champs being out in the snow. They loved walking around and couldn’t help throwing back their heads and laughing at the wonder of it. Snow makes you feel like that!
The rest of the evening was spent warming up in the cozy venue, with lots of good food and dancing. These two had such a great time with their guests and it was a blast to photograph! They are spending several weeks in Thailand right now, which is the complete opposite of their freezing cold wedding day. Congratulations you two!
