When Michael and I first had the idea to throw me a huge 30th birthday party, I thought it was a little crazy. But the more we talked about it the more exciting it sounded. So we just went for it! We called up a bunch of super talented wedding vendor friends, rented an event space at the Atlantic Sands Hotel and had the time of our lives!
I will remember this night forever. I can’t tell you how much fun it was to dress up a little, spend the weekend at one of our favorite seaside hotels, drink a whole bunch of champagne, order all my favorite foods and have everyone I love dancing with me all night. When I look through these photos, I get a little teary. I remember when everyone sang “Happy Birthday” I realized in that moment I had never heard that many people singing to me before. It was so sweet and touching! It felt like a warm hug.
Life is short. You will never regret celebrating every little thing and always surrounding yourself with your favorite people. Life is so, so precious and so worth celebrating. Michael and I pretty much live our lives that way and I’m so grateful for every amazing experience along the way.
Michael – I am so thankful for you. You never once thought this party was too much or too expensive. You did so many sweet little things that weekend to make it extra special and more than I could have ever imagined! Thank you for setting up the most awesome photo booth ever. Every time I look through those photos I just die laughing!
(More sappy thank yous at the bottom!)

After the party, we stayed the weekend and met with a few friends for brunch the next day. We opened presents in bed, walked on the beach and enjoyed leftover cupcakes! Here are a few quick phone images from the weekend:
Ami – The flowers were amazing! We had compliments all night about the cotton, pine and cabbages. People were blown away by your talent and I can’t thank you enough for bringing my cozy winter vision to life. I dried some of the arrangements and still have them on my dining room table!
Jen – You know I literally cannot celebrate a birthday without your chocolate cupcakes. They are my favorite food on the planet. And then to top it all off – you created the most stunning cable knit sweater cake! And the lemon curd was just delicious.
Megan – You are such a sweet friend. Thank you for coming to our hotel room and making me look beautiful. You are such a talented hair stylist!
Katy – Your calligraphy totally set the tone from the very moment our guests opened their mailbox and saw your beautiful lettering. Thank you so much!
Margo – Your modern and clean invitation designs have captivated me from the day I met you. I can’t believe I got to see your beautiful work come to life for my own event!
Kurt and Elizabeth – I heard you stayed up until 4:00 am making an awesome play list and I can’t thank you enough! Your energy is always contagious at every event. You get people on the dance floor all night! We seriously had the most amazing time thanks to you guys!
Atlantic Sands Crew – Thank you for bringing our vision to life! The event space was perfect, and we so enjoyed our ocean front room for a few nights to celebrate. The food was delicious and we so appreciate you custom making some of our favorites – like the incredible bacon wrapped dates!
Our friends and family – You made this night what it was. It would have been pretty boring without you (lol) and I can’t tell you how happy I felt just looking around the room at all your precious faces. Thank you for celebrating with us! I wish we could do it over and over again!
